Pastor Stephanie Himmel is a Hannibal, Missouri native who grew up in a different faith tradition but found her denominational home in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) five years ago. Shortly after discovering the Disciples, she realized that a lifelong call to ministry could become a reality through the church’s commissioning process. Stephanie has served as a Commissioned Minister since 2024 and is concluding four and a half years of ministry at First Christian Church of Hannibal. During her time there, she ministered primarily with children, youth, and young adults while developing a deep appreciation for multigenerational worship, community outreach, and faith formation. Before entering vocational ministry, Stephanie built a career in both the business and nonprofit sectors, gaining experience in organizational leadership, community engagement, and outreach. Stephanie has served on numerous boards and leadership teams, including the United Way of the Mark Twain Area Board of Directors and the Christian Church of Mid-America Regional Board. She currently serves as a General Board representative for the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and as a member of its Mission Committee. Stephanie and her husband, Brandon, were married in October of 2019, blending their lives and families. Brandon works for Bard Optical, and together they are raising three children: Oliver (13), Alexander (12), and Arielle (10). Above all, Stephanie is passionate about helping people encounter the love of Jesus, grow in their faith, and discover meaningful ways to serve others. She believes the church is at its best when it intentionally creates space for people to belong, grow, and experience God’s love in community.
